Customers can now manage their own storage regions<\/a> in AWS S3<\/a>\u00a0and GCP Cloud Storage<\/a>.\u00a0This tutorial will help you properly configure your custom storage region in AWS and GCP.<\/p>\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t

Step 1 - Bucket creation<\/h3>\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t
\n\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\tLog in to your Amazon Web Services console<\/a> with your credentials. Once inside go to the Storage > S3<\/strong> section and click the Create bucket<\/strong> orange button.\n\nFill out your bucket information (Bucket name and Region).\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t
\n\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\"s3-custom-bucket-name\"\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t
\n\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\tThen scroll down until the Block Public Access settings for bucket<\/strong>\u00a0section and just select the following two options:\n

  • Block public access to buckets and objects granted through new public buckets or access point policies.<\/li>\n \t
  • Block public and cross-account access to buckets and objects through any public bucket or access point policies.<\/li>\n \t
  • I acknowledge that the current settings might result in this bucket and the objects within becoming public.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t

    Step 2 - Credentials configuration<\/h3>\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t
    \n\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\tNow we recommend creating\u00a0a new AWS User<\/strong> and credentials. Go to AWS IAM > Users<\/strong> section and create the Add user<\/strong> button. Select a user name and choose the Programmatic access<\/strong> option under the access type section.\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t

    \n\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\tClick Next<\/strong>, and follow steps 2, 3, and 4 without changing anything, maintaining the default options, and finish by clicking the Create user<\/strong> button. The user credentials will be displayed, copied, and stored securely. You will have to provide them to our team.\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t

    Step 3 - Grant permissions<\/h3>\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t

    Now we have to grant some additional permissions to the new user. For this example, we will use the Inline AWS policies but as an alternative, you can create a new policy and attach it to the user.<\/p>

    Click on the new user and click Add inline policy<\/strong> under the Permissions tab. Use the {} JSON<\/strong>\u00a0editor and enter the following AWS Policy:<\/p>\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t

You can configure your Custom Storage Region at Workspace or App levels:\n<ul>\n \t<li><strong>Workspace:<\/strong> The configuration will be applied to the entire workspace except. It will apply to all apps except those that already have a Custom Storage region configured. To do so, just click <strong>Select<\/strong> on this screen to enable it at the entire workspace level.<\/li>\n \t<li><strong>App:<\/strong> The configuration will be applied just to this App, regardless of the workspace configuration. To do so, go to your <strong>App Settings &gt; Advanced<\/strong> and <strong>Select<\/strong> the Storage provider you\u2019d like.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t<div class=\"elementor-element elementor-element-98bb2ce elementor-alert-info elementor-widget elementor-widget-alert\" data-id=\"98bb2ce\" data-element_type=\"widget\" data-e-type=\"widget\" data-widget_type=\"alert.default\">\n\t\t\t\t\t\t\t<div class=\"elementor-alert\" role=\"alert\">\n\n\t\t\t\t\t\t<span class=\"elementor-alert-title\">Note<\/span>\n\t\t\t\n\t\t\t\t\t\t<span class=\"elementor-alert-description\">Note that only the new builds uploaded will be stored in the new region. You can safely <strong>skip Steps 2<\/strong> and Step 3 for now. We recommend using the &#8220;autoclass&#8221; option provided by GCP that utomatically transitions each object to Standard or Nearline class based on object-level activity, to optimise for cost and latency.
