Applivery Device Management allows you to manage and distribute your Private Apps in two different ways:<\/p>

  1. As a Self-hosted Private App managed outside the Google Play Console (you can read more here<\/a>).<\/li>
  2. As a Self-hosted Private App managed through Applivery App Distribution (you can read more here<\/a>).<\/li>
  3. As a Private App managed through the Google Play Console<\/a>. It provides two options:
    1. Use Google\u2019s Managed Google Play Console account that will be created automatically when uploading Private Apps through your Managed Google Play.<\/li>
    2. Use your own Google Play Console for advanced configuration, automation requirements, and more flexibility. You can read more about how to connect your existing Google Play Console Developer Account with Applivery here<\/a>.<\/li><\/ol><\/li><\/ol>

      In this tutorial, we will go through the second scenario (2.1), using Google\u2019s Managed Google Play Console account. If you are looking for advanced management of your Private Apps, you can continue reading <\/span>here<\/a>.<\/span><\/p>\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t

      Create and upload a Private App<\/h2>\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t
      \n\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t

      Once in the\u00a0Applivery Dashboard<\/a>, go to any of your Policies<\/strong> (1)<\/span> section (under Device Management > Policies<\/strong>). From the left side menu go to Apps<\/strong> (2)<\/span> and click the + Add app<\/span> button (3)<\/span>.<\/p>\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t

      \n\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\tThen select the Google Play<\/strong> (4)<\/span> tab. Once inside your Managed Google Play, go to the Private Apps<\/strong> (5)<\/span>\u00a0side menu option.\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t

      \n\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\tNow click the +<\/strong> (6)<\/span> circle button to start creating and uploading your first Private App. Choose a name for your App and browse your drive to select an APK file.\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t

      \n\n\t\t\t\t\t\tNote<\/span>\n\t\t\t\n\t\t\t\t\t\tPlease note that you are going to upload a new Private App to the Google Play Console so Google will reserve and block the package name of your App (i.e.:\u00a0com.applivery.kioskapp<\/code>) for this Organization and you will no longer be able to use it again in any other App or organization. We highly recommend carefully choose the package name or even add a suffix for testing purpose apps.<\/span>\n\t\t\t\n\t\t\t\n\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t

      Once uploaded, your App will require between 2h to 48h to be fully available in your account.<\/p>

      Note that this is the time that Google requires to review and publish your App.<\/p>\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t

      Update a Private App or make advanced edits<\/h2>\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t
      \n\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t

      You will probably want to update your private applications from time to time or make advanced edits to change the icon, description, language, or any other aspect of your application.<\/p>

      These operations can be done from Applivery through the Google Play Console.<\/p>\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t

      \n\t\t\t\t\t

      Upload a new version of your Private Apps<\/h3>\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t
      \n\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t

      From one of your Policies<\/strong> (1)<\/span>\u00a0(under Device Management > Policies<\/strong>), go to Apps<\/strong> (2)<\/span> and click the + Add App<\/span> button (3)<\/span>.<\/p>\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t

      \n\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\"add-app\"\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t
      \n\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t

      Then select the Google Play<\/strong> (4)<\/span> tab. Once inside your Managed Google Play, go to the Private Apps<\/strong> (5)<\/span> side menu option and select one of the Apps (6)<\/span>.<\/p>\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t

      \n\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\tThen click Edit<\/span> (7)<\/span>\u00a0beside the Select button.\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t

      Last, click edit<\/span> (8)<\/span> again beside the APK file name and select a file from your file system.<\/p>

      Google Play will analyze the package and, once finished, will allow you to press the Save<\/span> (9)<\/span> button to start uploading the file.<\/p>\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t

      \n\n\t\t\t\t\t\tNote<\/span>\n\t\t\t\n\t\t\t\t\t\tPlease note that you must increase the version number and version code<\/strong> of your app before uploading a new version. In any other case the upload will be rejected.<\/span>\n\t\t\t\n\t\t\t\n\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t

      Control app updates and update time<\/h3>\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t
      \n\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t

      Regularly updating applications on your organization’s devices ensures that users benefit from the newest functionalities, enhanced security, and greater reliability.<\/p>

      App updates are managed by Google through the Google Play Services and Applivery can not force the update of an App (you can read more about this here<\/a>).<\/p>

      Many factors may affect the update timings.<\/p>
